Education Philosophy

Growing up, I did not know what I wanted to be. I was always changing my mind at the last minute. One thing that has not change was the sense to make a difference and then when I graduated high school, I knew I wanted to be an teacher.

I grew up in the household of educators.  I saw how my mother, a first-grade teacher with 26 years of experience, transformed a child from playing with a toy to reading a book.  My older brother, who formerly taught for the Special Education department and is currently a preschool classroom teacher, who molded little boys and girls from constant crying to students who learned to express themselves using their words and develop their social-emotional abilities.  Similar to my mother and my brother, I am aware of my abilities to influence my students to become independent lifelong learners, community contributors, and have a high self-worth.  It is my belief that I can make a difference in my students and encourage to reach for their goals and aspirations despite the adversities they may face.
